    Wiggle Worm

So, I left him on the chair... and came back to find him here:
He was watching Sesame Street intently until I took his attention away with a flash and then the tricycle became fascinating.

This is where he had been, moments before, facing the back of the chair on his tummy reading a book:

I put him back up, went away for another second and came back to find him here:
He was, BTW perfectly happy until I got the camera out to prove how he did it. Bud didn't fall, he crawled down. :eyeroll:
I never heard him fall and was only around the corner helping Dory with the potty, because he apparently did not. Little stinker.

    New Buckle Tei

So, I finally got around to making a full buckle tei... I think it came out pretty nice! Jack seems to be very pleased... I made 4 carriers this weekend, 3 for customers and this one. This is a rucksack carry.

    Colds & Shoulders

So, on Thursday night my Mom came over to help some with Dory. At 5 she was fine, at 7 she was sneezing and by 10 she was full fledge snotty and sick.
5 days later we are STILL SICK!!!! Ug. Apparently Dory caught it from Jack who I had thought was just teething. Fooled me.
We have been taking it easy for the most part.
Dory's shoulder is slowly getting better. It is still very swollen and is now turing the sickly brownish yellow color that bruises exhibit as they heal. The knot is still there. we are still very careful with her in how we pick her up, because it does not take much for her to say it hurts again. I am convinced that it is a hairline fracture and is healing. Slowly. The knot in the second set is really quite solid. And there are a ton of veins and such running all over, so I can see it is trying to heal!

    The pitFALLS of Dressup....

Came today when Dory launched herself down the stairs at 11:45am. She had on a dress, flip flops, had her purse and sunglasses and her umbrella open. I wonder why Mom always said to not open an umbrella in the house.... hummm..... Anyway, down she came. It ws so muffled that I really had no idea that is what had happened at first. It really took a minute for her to say "Mommmmyyyy" and start crying. Almost like she had surprised herself, not as if she had the wind knocked out or anything. She didn't seem to have even hurt herself at first, and then the pain hit her. Her shoulder.

I couldn't see anything wrong at first. We moved to the couch and I gave her hugs and snuggles in between her sobbs while I tried to look at where it hurt without causing more pain or potential injury since I still knew nothing. About 15 minutes after the tumble, at noon, I saw it. A small blue knot on her clavical that justted out just a bit. Everything else just seemed normal though.

Not knowing just what to do with her I called John. (Of course I called him, he needed to know since he was, in family tradition, traveling.) He said what I needed to hear... "Call Dad." Pefect, relief, no drive to the wrong place where no one will look at her or blow the incident one way extreme or another. (Especially when our insurance has paid a whopping 30$ worth of claims this year and negotiated 300$ off of the 1500$ we have paid out of pocket, not even counting Jack's homebirth midwife or my doula.... Let's just say out insurance is LESS than stellar right now. A joke when we pay over 400$ a month to them!!!!!!)

He came right over, took one look at her and said, "Let's take her in to the Dr.'s" He saw the spot that had troubled me, and didn't know himself. She could move the arm out 90 degrees, but not straight out. She didn't pitch forward. But... edema doesn't set in hard so quickly and she couldn't get a full range.

So, off we go to see the peds - you know, just in case. When I called that said hey would be happy just to see us at the hospital for an x-ray, but I suggested an office visit first to make sure we needed to go that route first. Okay thay said... 2pm is when they could see us. Perfect since we live so far away. Into the car.

Just let me say, Grandpa sings his ABC's really well. We were almost off of 77 and onto 85 when Dory commented from the back in a small voice, "Boo-boo gone." We looked at one another and Grandpa then asked her if she could raise her hands over her head. Quicker than a blink, both were up. He looked at me and said, "Okay, you can turn around now." So, we did. No Dr.'s visit, just a short curative drive.

At home we medicated with peanut butter sandwiches, lots of picture books read by none other than Grandpa, chocolate chip cookies and a secnod dose of Tylenol. She currently sleeping on the couch in front of the TV.

So, long story short... she fell down the stairs, is fine but very very sore. :( And Mommy had quite a scare.

New milestone today for Jack & happy trails Lara

    Baby's first sunburn. Oops.

Lara, my Doula, teacher and friend, is moving into a RV with her fam to travel the country for a year. They pull out next week and had the final yard sale to pay for movers to put their stuff in storage today. So, we went and hung out and said our goodbyes and ran off with a new table and chairs for Dory's room and a few toys and a lamp.... LOL We spent much of the day outside, hence the sunburn. I'm pretty bad, Jack's cheeks are bad and Dory looks fine. Funny since she was in the sun more, or so I thought.

    Anyway, off they go.
Travel safe Lara and family, love you all.

    I can't believe she remembers....

So, it's been 5 months, and she's just now 3... but Dory clearly remembers when Jack was born!!!!! I was putting her to bed tonight and she and I are talking about her toy stethoscope, she claims it hurts her ears, and thay maybe we can find her a new one and she then starts to talk about babies and where they come out and pulls down her panties and points. I tell her that is where they come out, she's right and thay they grow inside and come out when they are done. (and also explained that pee and poop come from different places than babies, she seemed to get that...)

Then she starts in on that I was lying on the floor and there were people here and Auntie had a flashlight and they were driving in a car and came vroom vroom back here and the people and me on the floor with Jack and she got to meet Jack.....

She's so right, there were lots of people here, my midwife, her assistant, my doula, daddy, me, and when Dory got here right afterwards Auntie and my Mom too... they had been driving around with her after being at the park and going out to eat with my IL's... and when she got back I was resting on the floor with Jack nursing beside me under a towel, that's how she met him for the first time.
I just can't believe that 5 months later she remembers it so very well and has such a wonderful concept of where babies come from. I do not remember Auntie with a flashlight, but well, I was busy... so I won't doubt it without asking Tricia first.

Oh, and she also confirmed yet again tonight that Ba's expected baby is a girl named 'Sammy'.

    Jack's new trick

    Sitting up! Yipee!

Over 10 minutes at about 5:30 today that little man weathered earhquakes by Dory and STILL remained in an upright position all on his own. I am impressed with this very sudden ability! I did catch it on video. :)
