Our weekend excursion to Lake Lure, NC

So as John puts it, on Friday morning when he woke up, I kidnapped him. I thought we needed a family vacation, and he agreed so off we went for Lake Lure, NC. That very afternoon we scaled Chimney Rock with the assistance of an elevator... (Hey, I'm pregnant!) We also took Dory on a kiddy trail that had lots of fun diversions. She really was not ready to leave even though Mommy had to find the nearest non-tree watering post. When we got up on Saturday morning we were greeted with a wonderful Austrian/German style breakfast rather than the traditional continental breakfast... I just can't help but rave about the B&B we found last minute! Gaestehaus Salzburg Bed and Breakfast After check out, we decided to drive up to Asheville for a good cup of coffee and some noodeling in the shops... We certainly had to stop by Malaprops! After that we headed back to Lake Lure for a boat tour of the lake.... and we figured out that it was Dory's first time on a boat. John was loathe to admit it. (If you can think of one, let us know!) After that we headed home! It was a wonderful one night trip, and we cartainly plan to do it again as soon as we can.... knowing that it might be another 2 years at this rate...
