    Dory earned her.....

PANTIES!!!! She didn't have any accidents last night at all! She earned them by going in the potty with peepee at least 5 times and poopy 3 times.

    What's more....
She wanted to wear her panties to bed last night, but I just knew that we couldn't hold it that long.... so I put her heavy duty nighttime diaper on her and then put the panties over that. This morning she woke up and called, "Mommy, I have to go peepee in the potty!" Her diaper was BONE DRY. I could not be more shocked, and proud. I know we will have all sorts of accidents, but really... I am stunned, and really, really proud!

    Myra and Kendal

are friends of ours who no longer live here in Charlotte and can really use your prayers.
    www.caringbridge.org/visit/kaitlynkoontz
Their baby Kaitlyn, who is younger than Jack, has had massive medical issues. Their older daughter Megan, Dory's age, is feeling petty stressed as well. Please keep them all in your prayers.
    Thank you.

    Bold Mama blogs

    It's about circumcision.
Don't feel like you have to read it, she's a bit intense. I just wanted to book mark it for myself.

    Of Bottles and Babies...

This is what Jack thought of the first bottle attempt on Saturday....

    ...not much!

I guess I won't be going anywhere without him anytime soon! (Not that it is a big deal, I don't mind!)

    Yes she did it!

Dory is in day one of serious potty training. On her 3rd attempt, with a bowl of warm water to aid, she was sucessful! Big star sticker for her!!! (she gets a small heart for every failed attempt and a smilie sticker for a poopy....as well as presents along the wy and a party at the end...)

    Happy Valentine's Day

:) Yes, to you our reader freinds and family, Happy Valentine's Day. We here in this household have talked up a storm about Valentines's Day, mostly thanks to PBS Sprout running everything Valentine's Day today.
Dory has made her Daddy a special surprise. (But I can't say what since you never know when a Daddy is ging to check the family homepage...)
Jack has been great to Mommy today in that he has been an angel and graced me with the gift of a seldom recieved shower. (Oh, what a gift!)
And tonight it is, apparently, my turn to be in charge of the wooing. So, a great dinner it is.... as long as my not-made-up headache doesn't hinder the process.... LOL
So, Happy Valentines Day to all of you too. :) Love, Jenny, Dory and Jack too. :)

    Dory

Is completely and totally uninterested in the potty.... pee puddle number, oh who can actually keep count? Trickle free trainers are not so very trickle free if you ask me. Maybe the Flip-n-flush potty seats will help matters.

    He's 'official' now

Jack is Officially official now. We all drove downtown to the Office of Vital Statistics to register his birth yesterday morning. It might sound like nothing, but at the hospital the mother fills out the Mother's Certificate and the child is automatically registered for the state and federal offices. Since he was born here at home, he didn't have that very simple form- until yesterday. They didn't know he was alive, now they do. He is officially Jack William Raymond on paper. It's an unusual milestone, but one nonetheless.

    The AARP is psychic...

I got my first invitation to join the AARP today in the mail. I stood there reading the letter and wondering aloud over the fact that I am not yet even 30 and then turned around to find Dory standing on a cooler at the counter cuting a pear with my sharpest pairing knife. I aged 21 years in 1 second flat. How in the world did the AARP do it?

It was only a matter of time

before I became a social activist. Yesterday marked the first time I went off to do some thing purely for that type of cause. I went off to a Wal-Mart who was having an infant nutrition class offered by Similac and not even mentioning breastmilk. Another lady I know set the whole thing up, John printed us some informational pages, and Jack and I went off to work the booth talking to Moms who were interested. Not in your face, not to those who didn't care, not as a protest, but as a service. We had compiled a list of all of the local resources into a single sheet where Moms who choose to breastfeed could go to for immediate help and support. It seemed to be really appreciated by several people... incluing one MIL. LOL

The best thing? Similac didn't even show up! They stood Wal-Mart up!

    New Toy

Jak has been chomping away at our fingers and has just barely found his; but luckily he just got in the mail his first toy, a rosewood teething ring that I found on Esty. Now I just have to keep roewood drool stains off of his clothes... :) He's pretty happy with his super simple ring.
