I'm not alone in this world.

Put your coffee down, soda too. You don't want it near the keyboard when reading Mo's New Year post. It could do serious damage.

I am so thankful I am not alone. How in the WORLD did the 50's stay at home mom ever do it? Or is she a completely different breed from the 50's housewife? So far today, I've had success, the kids room was cleaned by 9am. Don't expect it to look like that at 6pm when John gets home. Fat chance.

Lastly, green eggs. See Grandma? I told you some were green! Yum. Yes, they are the same as any other egg, just a different breed. Thank you to our great farmers.

    Blanket Update

OK. Common sense prevailed. I quit.

I posted as much on Ravelry and within one hour someone had asked for the yarn. We ended up with a swap, I have 2 skein of Art Fiber's Hana (hand dyed artisan silk) in colorway 7 to replace of the 6 taunting honeydew green craft store skeins. WOOHOO!!! What a TRADE!

    The Zoo

We went to visit Clay and Amy this weekend down in Columbia, we had a wonderful time! They took us to the Riverbanks Zoo for the afternoon. A great time was had by all. It turns out my son wants to be carried by everyone but me... well, not really, but Clay and Amy both spent lots of time cuddling him. :)

    Carousel fun.

Jack and Amy look at chickens. Some had very fluffy feet!

Yes, we were that close... he was HUGE.

    Dory finally sees her bears!

The men folk. Aint they good lookin'?

Don't let her fool you, she wasn't asleep.

Neither was he, but he was tired, and hungry.

Taken right after being caught 'asleep'.

    Tearing up the kitchen.

    Thank you Mr. Clay. :)

    Big Bad, oh Bother.

    Oh, my.

When I taught myself to knit several years ago I started a lime green Big Bad Baby Blanket for Dory. I picked a color to match her room and a yarn I liked at the time.

    I hate it now.

    This blanket will never end.

Granted, it's been hibernating for a long time, and I only work on it occasionally... but still. I am just now almost half way. I hate this blanket.

John says I should just let it go and stop.

I can't. I just can not quit on it when I have so very much time into it. But, if nothing else, I have learned that there is one very important lesson for me: short instant gratification projects for me only. Or something that can be at least pieced together and looks like I actually DID something if worked on for an hour or two. Seriously. I hate this blanket.

Ack, back to knitting. Where's the Cool Scarf?

Teeth (oh, the title is misleading)

Scratch that... the last post that said 4 teeth? Scratch that. Count them 6. Yes, 6. I'm in shock. 6 teeth all at once. With a side of gloopy cold. [Tune of Moon River] Green river.... sliding down the nose.... gloopy gloopy cold, for Jaaackkkk. Oh, green river, that green green river.... [end song] When will it end? I dunno. It's a doozy of one. And now the flu is out and rampant. Um, I think we will stick real close to home. As much of a beating as this cold gave us, we don't want that flu.

    Did you hear?

That gigantic ROAR that leapt from our living room last night? That was John, Dory and Jack cheering in disbelief over the final few minutes of the Super Bowl as John's longtime 'home' team WON. (I even have a picture of the hoopla that I'm forbidden to post.)

Dory was the reason they won, as my superstitious sweetheart will tell you. She perched herself on his shoulders for the 4th quarter and did all sorts of wonderful cheers. Every major play, there she was rooting them on. John has tried hard not to push his love of the Giants on her, since her official home team is the Panthers. I've told him I think he is crazy, of all things to push on her, football would be the best. LOL Well, she caught the fever last night. I don't know how this will affect her love of Jake (why she latched on him, I don't know), but she is a Giants fan as well as a Panthers one... that is for sure. It must be true, she helped them win the game.

It was a beautiful Daddy-Daughter moment. A true blissful memory.

    Weaning

    Hot Chocolate
What a trade, Mommy Milkies for Hot Chocolate. Two months shy of 4 years, and we are both ready. (Me a little more so, I think.) She's proud to have a real grown up drink, and I am proud of the time she was able to nurse. It's been a LONG weaning process (2+ years), but I feel like it was very well worth it.

Awww, she's growing up so fast! And I bet the whole weaning thing hurts, Austin's eight and I miss those first 10 1/2 months I was able to breastfeed him!
