    Peas?

    Pease? Peaserrr?

Jack learned to say 'please' over a piece of banana on Saturday. I swear it is the cutest sound ever, as he rips at his shirt with the also new sign language please.... makes my heart melt!

    Happy Birthday Dory, overdue.

I have been a slack Mommy, too tired to get around to posting these, but... here they are from 2 parties, yes, 2. And she still has one more since Grandma Debbie and Grand were both sick.

Party #1 with Grandma & Grandpa Raymond

    My private Turnip Island

It's so silly, but I am getting some GREAT joy out of this little turnip top right now.... my very own deserted island. I've gotten lost in the trees already, setting up my hammock.

Hi, it's been quite a while since I posted so you may not remember me.
Just wanted to tell you that as soon as I saw the picture of your turnip I to, thought about being on a deserted island. Then when I read the blog post I had a good laugh. Glad I wasn't the only one thinking that way. hehe

    Happy Family

Did I share this picture when I posted about Biltmore? I think I neglected to get it downloaded (or use the camera to take a picture of the picture....) We love it. It is our first family picture since Jack has been born. We are certainly due to go have one really taken.

    Tricia's Car

We were so blessed to have her around for another night this week unexpectedly. She has semi moved in since starting a new job up our way, but on Thursday after work her car. The battery had gone bad. I would jump, they would pack up the cables and get ready to go, the person would leave.... and it would cut off again. It did this twice before we just got it sent down to Dutch who found out her rear brakes were all but GONE, all the way down to 2mm. How great is He who made a minor problem so a massive problem would be addressed? We ran her around today, went shopping for Dory's new bathing suit and generally took care of a ton of errands. All made easier with Tricia's help while waiting on Dutch to finish up. He did a ton of work, and as he does, gave us an amazing price. He is so good to us. We are indeed blessed. Tricia is safe on her trip through the mountains THIS WEEKEND. Praise to Him on HIgh.

I have been without my Jeep for almost a month now and I am also thankful that I have a "mechanic" friend who is keeping my Jeep in his garage and working on it as time allows him to do. This is the same place where my cd player was stolen, but like I said earlier, my Jeep is now locked in the garage, thank goodness! I am going crazy having to bum rides to college and work! Love ya!

    My evening with the Harlot

We had the best time tonight. I went not knowing of the Harlot and being a complete convert. After such a hard couple of weeks, she had me laughing so hard and itching to get back to the knitting needles. I did end up buying one of her books and am enjoying it quite a bit. She told us all sorts of funny tales and then regaled us with her most recent disaster. Stitches. My sides, that is. I decided then to give her a stitch marker, I had no other gift for her and all of the sudden it just felt WRONG to meet her and not bestow her with something. So I pulled out my most expensive little guy and ashamedly admitted to her that I could not tell her what the stone actually was, just what it cost me.... how tacky am I? *sigh* At any rate, she said it was her fave color... I know it's not real good for socks, but hopefully she will enjoy it on something.
Also, I took no knitting with me. A MASSIVE knitting group, a speaker of knitting, everyone around me knitting... and my hands were empty. Oh, the horror. It was like showing up naked in public. Seriously, it was bad. A mistake I will not make again.
Anyway, The Yarn Harlot tells the night's tale pretty well. Better than me at least.

    One More, seems more accurate!

    You Are Fruit Flavored Gum

You are quirky and independent. You don't tend to follow any one style or rule book.

You are a mix and match type of person, and you draw inspiration from many sources.

While you're definitely a bit unusual, you get along well with other people.

You're eager to welcome anyone into your world. You are not judgmental at all.

You form close bonds with your friends, and your relationships tend to be very secure.

You hold firm to your beliefs and values, and you don't let anyone talk you into compromising them.

    Winding a ball

I would love to have a swift and barn baller that makes such pretty little yarn cakes, but I also want a nostepinne. What's THAT you ask? And old fashioned, low tech tool for winding yarn from an unusable skein of twisted yarn into a useable center pull ball or 'cake'. I finally hand wound my first ball of yarn today, on an ink pen. It worked fairly well, but I will say my ball is tiny since it is Koigu mill ends. Only 11g in this ball. I have no idea how I will handle a larger full size skein, but this wasn't bad, and makes me think to a certain degree I might enjoy winding by hand.

    Changing

Yes, I changed some things around a few days ago. It's not your imagination. ;) Do you like? Or should I put it all back? Personally, I like. I almost wish I could use Blogger's new template thing, but I have this page so very customized now I would never get it all put back! I just can't bring myself to switch over. A bummer on some points, but I like being just me and not looking like everyone else's.

I didn't see it before, but I really like it. Very soft and easy on the eyes. Are you an artist?

    Blogger Jenny said...

Thanks! I like to consider myself an artist... but I don't know that I can really claim that. I'm in between. A full time real producing artist would say no, the non-artist would say yes.
